World's Tallest Man Sultan Kösen And Shortest Woman Elif Kocaman - currently holds the Guinness World Record 2011.
A Turkish man and woman have been approved by the Guinness Book of Records as the tallest man and shortest woman in the world. The records were announced at the launch of the latest edition of the book, in Istanbul.
At eight feet three inches and still growing, Sultan Kösen, 28, currently holds the Guinness World Record for tallest living man in the world. He is one of only 12 individuals in medical history to be confirmed at a height of eight feet or more. He is set to undergo treatment that will hopefully stop him growing any taller.
Kösen lives with his parents, three brothers and sister, who are all of normal height. He was unable to complete his schooling because of his height and works part-time as a farmer.
Elif Kocaman, 22, lives with her family in Kadirli. She is just 28.6 inches tall.
